The grant app associates grants to projects. It contains three models: GrantFundingAgency, GrantStatusChoice, and Grant. Figure grant_uml shows the grant app UML. The Grant model has many non-linked fields to capture information that can be used to generate reports for center directors. Table 1 lists the non-linked fields and their description.

role Project PIs role on the grant. Choices are: Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, and Senior Personnel.
grant_pi_full_name Full PI name in case the project PI is not the same as grant PI.
other_funding_agency Name of other funding agency if other is selected for funding agency.
other_award_number Other award number that is different from agency award number. Some universities have a separate internal award numbers associated with external awards.

grant_end Grant end date
percent_credit Percent of grant money credited toward HPC center
direct_funding Amount credited toward HPC center
total_amount_awarded Total grant amount awarded

The Grant models links to the Project, GrantFundingAgency, and GrantStatusChoice models. The default funding agencies are: Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), New York State Department of Health (DOH), New York State (NYS), Empire State Development (ESD), Empire State Developments Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR), and Other. The GrantFundingAgency model can be used to add more agencies. ColdFront has three status choices for the Grant model: active, archived, and pending. Active means the grant is active. Archived means the grant has expired. Pending means the grant has not been awarded yet.
